Former Penn State quarterback Drew Allar found his NFL home last week when he was selected in the third round by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In a sense, it was unfortunate that Allar ended up in Pittsburgh, as there are still questions about what the organization plans to do with the position in the long term. In a sense, he was also expected to be a first-round pick just about a year ago.

Not only was he expected to be a first-round pick, but some thought he even had a chance to go first overall. That obviously didn't happen, but there isn't much more to say about that any longer.

On the flip side, some of the greats in Steelers history have had a lot to say, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who doesn't sound too happy about the decision.

"This is one that I'm not sure yet if I love it or hate it," Roethlisberger said on his post-draft episode of Footbahlin, per Steelers Depot.

"You can get a lot of really good players in the third round...I think it was [that] we liked a big physical quarterback. I think he had a lot of hype behind him at one point...I didn't watch a lot of Penn State games. When I did watch, he never jumped off the page to me. Is he big, can he move, can he throw? Yeah, but there was never a time when I was like 'Whoa'...We'll see about this one…

"Will was a sixth-rounder. This is a third-rounder. I think this will push Will,” Roethlisberger said. "When I watch tape, or if I watch games, Will Howard jumped off the tape to me way more than Drew did."

It's interesting that Roethlisberger thinks the first thing he should say about the new Steelers quarterback is something negative, but he's just being honest in this situation, and we have to take that with some positives as well.

On the flip side, it isn't exactly like Will Howard should be jumping off the page to Roethlisberger, as he wasn't great during his time at Ohio State either. The Buckeyes have had a lot of better quarterbacks over the past 10 years in general.
