The Penn State Nittany Lions saw two of their players go off the board in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Offensive tackle Drew Shelton was taken by the Dallas Cowboys with the 112th overall pick, and edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton by the Green Bay Packers with the 120th overall pick.
Shelton was a solid left tackle during his time with Penn State. He has great athleticism and is fluid with his movements, but will need to develop his strength at the next level.
He thrives on plays like outside zone due to his mobility, but needs to add some strength to become a complete tackle for the Cowboys.
Dennis-Sutton has the chance to carve out a role right away in the pass rusher room for the Packers.
He had four productive seasons off the edge for the Nittany Lions. In his freshman season, he had 17 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and an interception.
James Lang-Imagn ImagesIn his sophomore campaign, he continued to improve, finishing with 26 total tackles, six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Dennis-Sutton improved drastically in his junior year, as he had 42 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
He was consistent in his senior season, finishing with 42 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles.
Dennis-Sutton now pairs with former Penn State star Micah Parsons on the defensive line in Green Bay.
Parsons has established himself as one of the best pass rushers in the league after an incredible career with the Nittany Lions, where he posted 192 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and six forced fumbles across his two seasons.
Shelton and Dennis-Sutton were quality players for the Nittany Lions in 2025 despite the team struggling and finishing 7-6. Penn State will miss having the consistency from Shelton and Dennis-Sutton as they continue their careers in the NFL.
