Penn State quarterback Rocco Becht's three best games at Iowa State for the Cyclones.

Penn State fans haven't gotten a good opportunity to meet their new quarterback, Rocco Becht, this spring. Since transferring to Penn State, Becht has not been able to participate in Spring Ball as he recovers from shoulder surgery that he had this offseason.

What Becht does bring to the table is something that is very familiar to Penn State fans: a veteran presence.

Becht was a three-year starter for Matt Campbell at Iowa State, where he amassed nearly 10,000 yards passing and 64 touchdowns. He was an integral part of turning that Iowa State program around and is a big reason that he and his head coach, Matt Campbell, are in Happy Valley.

Here is a look back at Becht's three best games as a Cyclone.

3. 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl: Iowa State 42, Miami 41

After getting pummeled by the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Big 12 Championship game, which ended their chances to make the college football playoff, Becht and the Cyclones were selected to play in the Pop-Tarts Bowl against the Miami Hurricanes.

It was Becht versus future No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward, and Becht balled out. He finished 22 for 36 for 270 yards and 3 touchdowns in what ended up being a very back-and-forth game. He propelled the Cyclones to a game-winning score, and they were able to hold off the Hurricanes at the end.

2. 2024 Liberty Bowl: Iowa State 26 Memphis 36

This game had the numbers to be Becht's best game, but you can't have the best game in a loss. Becht went crazy in this game, going 22 for 38 for a career-high 446 yards and three touchdowns.

There wasn't a throw that he couldn't make in this game, and he and Campbell had not a worry in the world. They were just letting it fly, but it wasn't quite enough as the Cyclones fell.

1. 2024 Week 4: Iowa State 34 Oklahoma State 27

Circumstances influence the rankings, and this game for Becht and Campbell was one of their most important. It was their first conference game that Becht started, and he burst onto the scene. He finished the day going 27-38 for 348 yards and three touchdowns.

You only get so many chances to make a first impression, and Becht did that in a major way as he took over his new team.

Penn State is hoping that they get this version of Becht, who, when he is on, can throw it with some of the best in the country.
