The Penn State Nittany Lions were one of the country's most disappointing teams this season, and while there were a myriad of factors at play in Penn State's demise, one of the most crucial aspects was the play of quarterback Drew Allar.
Allar entered the season viewed as a potential top-10 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft and had even drawn comparisons to Josh Allen due to his size and impressive arm strength.
However, the senior signal-caller played in just six games before bowing out to a season-ending ankle injury, and even when he was on the field, he struggled.
Allar threw for 1,100 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 64.8 percent of his passes while rushing for 172 yards and a score in 2025, definitely not the campaign most were expecting from the 21-year-old.
Now, Allar's NFL Draft stock has plummeted as a result, and Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus has ranked him 150th among his top 315 prospects in this year's class.
That being said, Sikkema clearly sees legitimate talent in Allar.

"A former pitcher, he once said he either struck batters out or walked them and that's how he plays quarterback right now: a lot of good, and a lot of regrets."
Sikkema went on to note that Allar may throw the best ball of any quarterback in this group, but that he obviously has some kinks in his game he needs to repair.
"His best throws are the best in the class, but he lacks consistency in how, when and why the ball comes out of his hands," Sikkema added. "Allar has starter-level tools, but he must show more respect for defenses and commit more fully to the fundamentals to reach his potential."
If Allar is drafted, it will probably be some time during Day 3, and there stands a chance that he could be a potential steal.
Of course, his draft positioning will also largely be determined on how he performs at the Scouting Combine, assuming he is able to make a full recovery before then.
Allar has displayed plenty of talent at Penn State, but he struggled against top teams and in bigger games, something NFL teams will certainly hold against him.
