The Penn State Nittany Lions are hosting the best collection of prospects the program has seen in a while, and the content coming out of it is awesome.
This weekend in Happy Valley is one of the most important ones in the Matt Campbell era of Penn State football.
It is a star-studded official visit weekend, and the Nittany Lions are showing out. They have nine top recruits on campus this weekend, including six four-star recruits from all over the country. It's a weekend like this that can change the trajectory of a program and infuse it with real, legitimate, high-level talent.
To do that, the guys have to feel wanted, and the Nittany Lions are rolling out the red carpet. Here is some behind-the-scenes content to get Nittany Lions fans fired up about these potential recruits.
Khalil Taylor is one of Penn State's most coveted recruits, and they pulled out all the stops. One phone call and Penn State legend Abdul Carter was back inside Beaver Stadium (with the new regime, I might add) to help recruit the future star.
Taylor has 31 total offers to his name, and the recruiting experts expect him to commit to Penn State soon. This would be an elite talent at the wide receiver position that Penn State has historically lacked.
How would Blake Betton look in a Penn State uniform for the next four years? Pretty darn good if you ask me.
Betton is a four-star edge prospect from Minnesota who doesn't have quite the National attention as Taylor, but looks like he is a ball of clay that could be molded into a star. With 25 offers to his name, Betton is committed to Penn State as of right now with the hope that this weekend locks the door on any other possibilities.
Another four-star, elite defensive back prospect, Semajay Robinson, is on campus as well, and he is ready to be a Nittany Lion. Robinson is from South Florida and was one of the first players to commit to Matt Campbell and Penn State this offseason.
He is on campus, seemingly recruiting the other official visitors to commit and join him in Happy Valley.
Also, a solo walkout into Beaver Stadium would be too much for me to be able to turn down.
This weekend is a major one for Matt Campbell and his program. If all goes well, this could change the trajectory of the Nittany Lions for many years to come.
