Texas and Oklahoma have two losses this season, so we've forgotten about them a bit while talking about the playoffs and SEC title game options. Can they shock the big boys on Saturday and rewrite their playoff fate when Texas goes to Georgia and Oklahoma visits Alabama?

Two losses is often a death sentence for schools trying to make it into the 12-team College Football Playoff, but not when you're an SEC team with a strong strength of schedule. Still, you get that second loss and it's out of sight and out of mind — at least for a while.

Texas and Oklahoma both fit that bill. The Longhorns had two losses by Oct. 4, and the Sooners had their second loss by Oct. 25. Since then, though, Texas has won four straight and Oklahoma got a big win at Tennessee last week, so both teams are 7-2 and parked side-by-side in the CFP rankings at No. 10 and No. 11, respectively.

Both have golden opportunities to make some noise and cement their playoff hopes this weekend. They're both on the road and heading into hostile environments. Oklahoma plays at Alabama at 3:30, and Texas plays under the lights at Georgia at 7:30 p.m.

Texas and Oklahoma are both underdogs, but they also have a shot. Georgia and Alabama have both shown enough flaws this year that they can be beaten. Calling for an upset? Well, I won't be surprise if one — or both — create some magic on Saturday.
