Boopie has a short window to turn his scoring and shooting into a professional opportunity with Milwaukee this summer.
Former SMU guard Boopie Miller earned a spot on the Milwaukee Bucks’ Summer League roster, and his first games tip off this weekend. Miller averaged 14.2 points, 3.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game for the Mustangs in 2025-26 while shooting 38.4% from 3-point range. He now takes those tools into a professional setting starting Saturday in Sacramento.
The California Classic runs through Monday at Golden 1 Center. Milwaukee opens Saturday at 2 p.m. CT against Golden State Warriors Blue, faces Brooklyn on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT and closes Monday against Sacramento at 9 p.m. CT.
Las Vegas follows the next week. The Bucks open Friday, July 10, against Miami at 3 p.m. CT at Thomas & Mack Center before playing San Antonio on Sunday, July 12, at 8 p.m. CT, Phoenix on Monday, July 13, at 9 p.m. CT and Charlotte on Wednesday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Boopie shares the roster with notable names; Nate Ament, Milwaukee’s first-round pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, leads the group as the Bucks begin their post-Giannis rebuild. Brayden Burries, acquired in a trade, brings scoring versatility and perimeter shooting that will draw attention throughout both legs of Summer League. For Boopie, making an impression in that environment means standing out among players the organization already has a financial stake in.
Seven games is a short window to make an impression; G League and two-way contracts go to consistent players who make good decisions and guard at a professional level across multiple nights. Boopie’s scoring instinct and perimeter shooting are his best tools. His 3-point percentage at SMU shows catch-and-shoot ability that translates well to professional offense, where spacing drives everything.
Summer League rosters are full of players in the same position. The players who get contracts stay ready, stay professional and produce when their number is called regardless of role or minutes. That is the standard Boopie needs to meet over the next two weeks.
