SMU’s CFB 27 Ratings Scream ACC Contender

SMU football isn’t sneaking up on anyone in College Football 27. EA Sports gave the Mustangs an 83 overall rating, tying them with Auburn, Penn State, Houston, Clemson, Louisville and Virginia.

That puts SMU among the top 20 teams in the game, but the real flex is on offense.

The Mustangs check in with an 87 offensive rating, trailing only Miami among ACC teams.

Quarterback Kevin Jennings is the leader. His 89 overall rating makes him one of the top quarterbacks in College Football 27, and his player build looks dangerous for anyone who likes extending plays.

Jennings brings 89 speed, 92 throw on the run and strong passing numbers across the board after throwing 26 touchdowns in 2025.

In the game, he won’t just sit in the pocket. He’ll stress defenses sideways, break contain and turn busted plays into explosives.

But SMU’s scariest weapon may be the wall in front of him.

PJ Williams leads the roster with a 92 overall rating, making him one of the highest-rated offensive tackles in the game.

The projected 2027 NFL Draft first-rounder has allowed only four sacks in 1,171 career pass-blocking snaps, and EA rewarded him with elite blocking traits across the board.

His 94 toughness and power-heavy blocking profile make him the kind of tackle gamers can trust on critical downs.

Right guard Addison Nichols isn’t far behind at 91 overall. With 96 awareness, 92 strength and elite pass-blocking scores, Nichols gives SMU a brutal right side.

Add center Joshua Bates at 84 overall, and suddenly this offensive line looks like one of the best units in the ACC.

The skill talent is legit, too. Running back Kendrick Raphael enters at 87 overall after rushing for 943 yards and scoring 14 total touchdowns in 2025.

Wide receiver Yamir Knight brings 85 overall juice, 90 speed and 94 acceleration, making him a nightmare in space.

Defensively, Marques White, Jimmy Wyrick and Alexander Kilgore give SMU enough punch to keep things interesting. But let’s be real: this team is built to score.

In College Football 27, SMU isn’t just playable. The Mustangs look like a problem.
