SMU Women’s Tennis saw Addison Comiskey, Sophie Llewellyn, Caroline McGinley and Natalie Stasny earn All-ACC Academic Team honors after an NCAA Round of 32 run.
SMU Women’s Tennis didn’t just make noise on the court in its first ACC season. The Mustangs handled business in the classroom, too.
Addison Comiskey, Sophie Llewellyn, Caroline McGinley and Natalie Stasny were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the 2025-26 season, giving SMU four more reasons to flex after a strong debut campaign under head coach Kelcy McKenna.
The ACC’s academic standard comes with real requirements. Student-athletes must carry at least a 3.00 GPA, both overall and across the most recent two semesters.
They also must have been enrolled for at least one academic year and competed in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.
In other words, showing up once or twice doesn’t cut it. These players had to be legitimate lineup pieces and legitimate students.
Comiskey, Llewellyn, McGinley and Stasny checked both boxes. All four were fixtures for the Mustangs throughout the season, helping SMU reach the NCAA Championship Round of 32 while navigating the jump into one of the toughest conferences in college athletics.
For Llewellyn and McGinley, the honor also adds another layer to their resumes.
Both earned All-ACC Academic recognition for the second straight season, proving their consistency goes well beyond match day.
That matters for an SMU program trying to build something sharper and more sustainable under McKenna. Winning in the ACC requires talent, depth and toughness.
But programs that last also need athletes who can manage the grind away from competition, and this group gave the Mustangs exactly that.
SMU’s first season with McKenna at the controls already brought postseason momentum. Now, the Mustangs can add academic credibility to the story.
Four players. One NCAA run. And a clear reminder that SMU Women’s Tennis is building with more than just rackets.
