The Mustangs' QB knows that this clash will be anything but a walk in the park.

The SMU Mustangs will welcome Boston College to Gerald J. Ford Stadium on Saturday as Rhett Lashlee's team looks to build on their win over Missouri State.

With the offense putting up points thanks to quarterback Kevin Jennings, and the defense becoming one of the better units in college football, the Mustangs are most people's favorites in this clash.

Of course, as we know, games aren't always smooth, as the Mustangs were held scoreless in the first quarter against Missouri State and still had plenty of turnovers and penalties, which made it "only" a 10-point win.

Lashlee has made note of his team reducing the turnovers and becoming the team they want to be, and against Boston College, fans want to see a better performance, and one that isn't riddled with self-inflicted wounds.

And for Jennings, he knows what Boston College brings to the table.

"Yeah, I mean we played them well [the last] three years," Jennings said. "They're really hard-fought team, a lot of physicality and all that. They're a good team. So, just long as we go out there and execute what we know we can do, I think we'll be fine for sure."

The Mustangs have won the previous two games against Boston College. They won 45-13 last season, 38-28 in 2024, and lost 24-14 in 2023.

So, SMU has had the wood over Boston College, and the Mustangs will be hoping that form line continues at home.

In truth, it should, given the talent the Mustangs have on both sides of the ball, but the nervousness is there from fans because this SMU team likes to make things hard for itself with self-inflicted wounds.

They've got to stop, and if they don't, you can make a case for Boston College at the very worst, making this a really tough game for the Mustangs.
