After Andrew Luck, Kevin Hogan carried the torch, and the Cardinal, to three Rose Bowl wins.
The 2026 Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame class has been announced and former Cardinal quarterback Kevin Hogan is among the inductees. Hogan, a member of the Cardinal for five seasons in the 2010s, played a pivotal role in keeping the Cardinal relevant in the post-Andrew Luck era and is now getting the recognition he worked so hard to earn.
The 102nd football player inducted into the Cardinal sports Hall of Fame, Hogan played on The Farm from 2011–15, taking over as the starter midway through the 2012 campaign.
From then on, Hogan was the face of the program and started four bowl games over the course of his career, going 3-1 in those contests with two Rose Bowl victories. He also became one of only three college football quarterbacks to start in three Rose Bowls.
Guiding Stanford to three Pac-12 titles in 2012, 2013 and 2015 and winning the MVP of the 2012 conference title game, Hogan really broke out in 2015, totaling 2,867 passing yards, 27 touchdown passes and eight interceptions, while earning second-team All-Pac-12 honors.
Evolving into a highly regarded NFL draft prospect, he was taken 162nd overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2016 draft. Hogan played nine combined professional games for the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans.
Overall for his career, Hogan is the program record holder in career rushing yards by a quarterback (1,249) and career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (15) while also totaling the second-most victories ever by a starting quarterback in the Pac-12, with 36, tied with Marcus Mariota and behind only Jake Browning.
Although Hogan's career after college was not what he had hoped, he now cements himself as an immortal legend at Stanford, remembered for keeping the standards on The Farm high, even in an era of change. A true embodiment of what it means to be a Cardinal, Hogan's legacy is enduring.
For the Cardinal to see another football player enter the Hall of Fame, especially a quarterback, it could certainly give motivation to the guys who are on the team this season. The Cardinal have gotten inconsistent quarterback play in recent years, but this year's room could fix those issues and get the offense to reach its full potential.
Adding Davis Warren from the transfer portal, the former Michigan starter is the one expected to lead the Cardinal under center this year.
The induction ceremony is set for Friday, Sept. 25.
