Stanford worked to get Brayden White to The Farm for a visit. When he arrived, he decided he never wanted to leave.

Stanford football's recruiting class keeps building momentum. On Sunday three-star defensive lineman Brayden White out of Texas committed to the Cardinal, per On3/Rivals.  Stanford had been in heavy pursuit of him, trying to get him out to California after they'd offered him.

White visited Stanford this weekend, and the trip proved decisive — he committed before leaving campus. He cited the school's diversity and academic profile as part of the draw.

"This visit has been unlike any other," he told On3/Rivals. "Going from a small school in Texas to a school like Stanford is going to be a lot different. I believe in my academic ability as well as my football ability to be a fit there."

Rivals has him ranked as the No. 107 defensive lineman in the class, and the No. 142 overall prospect in Texas.

According to 247Sports, Stanford was the first visit on his schedule, with visits also scheduled with Houston, Baylor, Mississippi State and Oklahoma State each weekend for the next month. He'd also received offers from Arizona, TCU, Arkansas and Vanderbilt.

The commitment gives Stanford an early foothold in Texas, a talent-rich state. Landing a prospect before he has even completed his visit schedule — or started it — is a testament to the recruiting pitch and the effort of head coach Tavita Pritchard, GM Andrew Luck and the Stanford staff.

White has been a multi-sport athlete in high school, averaging 23 points with 13 rebounds and 1.1 steals on the basketball court as a junior, and was a Texas 4A regional qualifier in the discus as a sophomore.

This past season he recorded 24 tackles and 12 tackles for loss, including eight sacks, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and an interception. Listed at 6-foot-1, 290 pounds, White has the size and athletic ability to contribute early.

Stanford's 2027 class currently ranks 53rd nationally and 12th in the ACC, anchored by four-star quarterback Sione Kaho out of Washington. White joins three other three-star commits — OT Benjamin Lowther, safety Savoy Guidry and OT Clint Lundin — as Pritchard and Luck continue building out the board

With five players committed for 2027 so far, Stanford is still in the early stages of building the class. Kaho, the 22nd-ranked QB in the class, provides a nice ceiling, while issues on the offensive line are being addressed with the additions of Lowther and Lundin.

White's commitment fills a need on the defensive line, giving Pritchard and Luck a foundation to build this class upon.
