History was made on Saturday by Joey Spallina.
Syracuse lacrosse standout Joey Spallina made some incredible program history on Saturday afternoon, becoming the program's all-time points leader in a non-conference showdown against Colgate.
With 308 points - and counting - Spallina passed Mike Powell (307). Powell's career wrapped up in 2004, meaning this record has stood for more than 20 years.
Spallina has one more regular season game against Notre Dame plus the ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournaments to put further separation between him and Powell.
Spallina's post-Syracuse career
While Spallina will focus on trying to win a national championship with the Orange, he got some major news earlier this week about his future.
He was the No. 3 pick in the 2026 PLL College Draft. He was taken by the Maryland Whipsnakes.
ACC Tournament projections for the Orange
The Orange will play one more game (April 25, Notre Dame) before heading into the ACC tournament. There are only five teams in the ACC for men's lacrosse, with the top four making the league tournament. Syracuse is 2-1, which currently has them in a tie for second place.
The ACC tournament semifinals are set for May 1 and the finals will take place on May 3.
NCAA Tournament projections
The Orange entered play on Saturday at 10-3 overall and are expected to be selected for the NCAA Tournament. Eighteen teams will be selected to compete in this year's version of the event.
Tournament action begins on May 9. The title game is always on Memorial Day.

The roster turnover continues for the Syracuse men's basketball program. On Friday, veteran guard Nate Kingz announced his intention to enter the transfer portal. Kingz spent just one season at Syracuse, averaging 12.2 ppg. However, it's unclear if he'll even be able to play somewhere else, as he has to apply for another year of eligibility.
Kingz has previously played at the NAIA and junior college ranks, as well as Oregon State.
With Kingz's absence, the Orange now need to replace all five starters from last season's roster that went 15-17. We took a look earlier this week at where things stand at this point in the offseason.
