Double-overtime? Power outages? Snowstorms? The Orange overcame it all.

Tom Goslowski speaks from the JMA Wireless Dome after Syracuse beats Cal on Wednesday.

The Syracuse University men's basketball team earned a much-needed victory on Wednesday night, beating California 107-100 in double-overtime at the JMA Wireless Dome.

With the win, the Orange are now 14-11 and 5-7 inside Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Golden Bears are 17-8 but just 5-7 in the league as well.

This was the oddest game of the season for Adrian Autry's team, so here's what you need to know.

About that weirdness...

Well, there was a snowstorm outside which caused the attendance to be woeful, as you can see in the video posted by Brent Axe of Syracuse.com.

Then, we saw the power go out on two separate occasions. Not fully, but enough to dampen the lighting at the Dome.

And then, we saw double-overtime, something else particularly rare. But that said, a win is a win, and it was much-needed.

Inside the numbers

--With the extra 10 minutes of game time, the Orange had six different players in double-figures. Nate Kingz led the way with 27 points on 8-of-14 shooting while JJ Starling had 21, Donnie Freeman had 16, William Kyle III had 15, Naithan George had 14 and Sadiq White Jr. had 10 points in nine minutes.

--Kyle had a whopping 16 rebounds.

--The Orange shot an excellent 54 percent from the floor (38-of-71), but they were dreadful from three-point range (6-of-25) and the foul line (25-of-42).

--Cal was worse from the floor (45 percent), but they hit 11 threes (37 percent) and they were 76 percent at the line (19-of-25).

--The Orange limited the turnovers, only committing 12 while forcing 16. They also had 17 assists on 38 made shots.

--Syracuse had nine blocks on the night.

--After not playing at all against Virginia on Saturday, Kiyan Anthony got 14 minutes, scoring two points on 0-of-1 shooting.

What worked well

Conditioning. Credit to the Orange for staying engaged and for having the ability to keep their legs churning. Four of the five starters played more than 40 minutes and Freeman played 34.

Needs improvement

The three-point shooting has to improve. In today's game, you can't be a two-happy team, even if you are good on that front. The Orange have to find a way to A) make more threes and B) be more efficient. Twenty-five three-pointers is a lot, and if you only make six, that's a lot of wasted possessions.

Up next

With six regular season games left, the Orange will play host to SMU on Saturday afternoon (2 p.m. ET) at the JMA Wireless Dome.
