The Syracuse Orange football coach was not happy with something that happened during the event.

Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown represented the program in front of the national media during the Atlantic Coast Conference's (ACC) Football Kickoff event on Thursday in Charlotte, N.C. However before the session even began, Brown felt disrespected after an interaction.

What is ACC Football Kickoff?

This year's ACC Football Kickoff began on Wednesday and will continue until Friday. All 17 of the conference's football programs are represented during the event.

The three-day event will continue to feature press conferences with head coaches and student-athletes from all 17 schools. Syracuse's assigned media session was Thursday.

Why did Fran Brown feel disrespected during ACC Football Kickoff?

Before the media sessions began, the host of the event accidentally introduced Fran Brown as "Fred Brown." The host quickly corrected himself, but not quick enough for Brown to not notice. Brown said "already disrespect" after the introduction.

Another combative moment between the media and Brown happened later during his session. As Syracuse.com reporter Chris Carlson noted, Brown said the following about being aware of what the media writes and says about his program.

Brown "I see what you all write. Keep that same energy."

Although the conference predictions have yet to be released, the Orange are likely projected near the middle or bottom of the conference. It is likely Brown will, again, address the "disrespect" faced by the program in the media if his team is regarded as one of the worst groups in the preseason.

What did Syracuse players say during ACC Football Kickoff?

Quarterback Steve Angeli, along with linebacker Antoine Deslauriers and defensive back Demetres Samuel Jr. also spoke to the media.

Roundtable will have more updates throughout the day with what the leaders of the Orange team said in regards to this year's team.

What's happened so far at ACC Football Kickoff?

The most impactful news that has been released so far during the multiple-day event arrived on Wednesday and the news involved the conference's new tiebreaker rules.

The adjusted tiebreaker is in an effort to have the two best teams in the conference competing for the championship and a likely College Football Playoff berth.

It's also a response to the new ACC schedule that will take (partial) effect in 2026. Some ACC schools are playing eight conference games, while some are playing nine. As a result, it's possible for one team to finish 6-3 and another to finish 6-2. If that happens, the 6-3 team could earn a trip to the conference title game, because it might have the stronger overall resume.
