The Syracuse University men's basketball team gets its first road test in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play on Tuesday night when it takes on Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Orange enter play at 9-5 overall and 0-1 in the league, while the Yellow Jackets are 10-5 and 1-1.
The Orange are coming off a tough conference-opening loss to Clemson (64-61), but there were some positives. First, the defense held Clemson to just 64 points, and secondly, Donnie Freeman returned from a nine-game absence to score 18 points.
All of his points came in the second half, so the hope is that he's shaken off the rust and can be an impact player for the entire game on Tuesday.
Furthermore, Syracuse went 20-of-24 at the free-throw line in the defeat. Considering they entered conference play as the worst free-throw shooting team in the country, that's a big improvement and one that can hopefully continue.
Syracuse wins: Binghamton, Delaware State, Drexel, Monmouth, No. 13 Tennessee, St. Joseph's, Mercyhurst, Northeastern, Stonehill
Syracuse losses: Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Hofstra, Clemson
The Yellow Jackets are 10-5 on the campaign, but they've played a relatively soft schedule to this point. They are coming off a conference win against Boston College, who is also expected to be one of the bottom-feeders in the ACC.
Kowacie Reeves Jr. leads the team in scoring at 16.0 ppg while freshman Mouhamed Sylla pulls down eight rebounds a game.
GT Wins: Maryland Eastern, Bryant, Southeast Louisiana, Georgia Southern, West Georgia, Monmouth, Marist, Lafayette, Florida A&M, Boston College
GT Losses: Georgia, DePaul, Drake, Mississippi State, Duke
The Yellow Jackets have lost against every power four conference team they've played, except for BC.

Both teams shoot 46 percent from the floor. Syracuse blocks more shots per game while the Yellow Jackets get nearly five more assists per game.
Syracuse only averaging 12.6 assists per game is emblematic of an offense that is still trying to find its way. Syracuse struggles to shoot from the outside, and they at times, struggle with ball movement, leading to several empty possessions and too many isolation opportunities.
Hopefully, with Freeman back, the Orange can get in a better rhythm.
This is a homecoming game for SU guard Naithan George and big man Ibrahim Souare, both of whom previously played at Georgia Tech. George led the ACC in assists per game last season at 6.5.
Syracuse has a 59.5 percent chance to win, according to the simulations.
