Find out where these former players are starting their professional careers.
No former Syracuse men's basketball players were selected in the NBA Draft's first round on Tuesday night, but one former Syracuse player was selected in the second round.
And a handful of other former Syracuse players announced their commitments to professional teams following Wednesday's second round.
Last season's Orange players
William Kyle III
After playing two seasons at South Dakota State and one season at UCLA, Kyle elected to join Syracuse via the transfer portal for his final collegiate season.
Kyle, a 6-foot-10 senior center, played in all 32 games. A Naismith Defensive Player of the Year watchlist nominee, Kyle averaged 8.4 points, 7.1 rebounds 2.5 blocks and one steal per game.
Kyle signed a Exhibit 10 deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
An Exhibit 10 deal means a one year contract that is not guaranteed.
Players who finished their careers at other schools
Chris Bell
Bell spent three seasons with Syracuse before hitting the transfer portal. In his senior season for the California Golden Bears, he played in 34 games, posting 14.2 points per game. Bell took to the social media platform X and indicated he signed with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Quadir Copeland
After starting his career in Central New York, Copeland spent his final two seasons in college at McNeese State and North Carolina State. Copeland will be signing a two-way contract with the Houston Rockets.
Maliq Brown
Brown played two seasons at Syracuse before transferring to Duke. Brown made recent history as he was the first former Syracuse player to be selected in the NBA Draft since Elijah Hughes in 2020. Brown was drafted 44th overall by the San Antonio Spurs. The reigning Western Conference champions will be a good fit for Brown.
