Orange fans are already getting excited about the basketball season starting later this fall.
Syracuse basketball fans have ridden quite the roller coaster over the last several months. First, Adrian Autry was removed as head coach following a 15-17 season, and Gerry McNamara was hired after a successful two-year run at Siena.
Then, multiple players flowed in and out via the transfer portal, now we're left wondering what the eligibility status of Amarri Monroe will be.
Syracuse is currently in the longest drought in program history of not being selected for the NCAA tournament, having not made the tournament since 2021.
But despite all of that, fans are excited about what's ahead under McNamara, and it was evident earlier this week.

The feature is described as being"an in-depth look at summer session of year one of the McNamERA, laying the groundwork for the program's future."

What does the Orange roster look like this season?
The program has gone through multiple changes since McNamara began his tenure in March. The projected roster for this season includes:

The status of fifth senior Amarri Monroe is still in question. Monroe, earlier this week, filed a lawsuit against the NCAA hoping to gain a fifth year of eligllibity.
What are the confirmed games on Syracuse basketball schedule?
So far the Orange have confirmed these times and dates for regular season games.
--The team's first home regular season game will be against New Haven on Nov. 2.
--The Orange will also play Central Connecticut State later that week, at home, on Nov. 5.
--A game inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis against Indiana on Nov. 9.
--The UAlbany matchup is set for Nov. 25 at the JMA Wireless Dome.
--As a part of the ACC/SEC Challenge, the Orange will take on Oklahoma on Dec 1.
--Syracuse will host Colgate on Dec. 8
--Syracuse will play against Canisius on Dec. 16 at the JMA Wireless Dome.
--In a revival of an old BIG EAST matchup, the Orange will play Providence in Boston at the TD Garden on Dec. 19.
All conference games dates and times have yet to be confirmed.
**The St. John's matchup is reportedly Nov. 15 but has yet to be confirmed by the team's official schedule.
Overall outlook
Given that McNamara has been a head coach before, and won before, it seems fair to say that the overall outlook for Syracuse looks bright. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is highly competitive, but the Orange have been given a generally favorable schedule, based on what we know so far.
