Playing against a team of Kentucky alums, 'Boeheim's Army' lost in very difficult fashion on Sunday.
While Syracuse Orange fans watched a team full of their favorite former players win in Central New York on Thursday night at the OnCenter War Memorial, the winning feeling lasted only a few days.
'Boeheim's Army,' a team comprised with a mix of former players and non-SU alums, lost to 'La Familia,' a team of former Kentucky players on Sunday by a score of 70-66.
The win places 'La Familia' in the finals of the 2026 alumni bracket and keeps them in contention for the $2 million grand prize.

Inside the numbers
-- While their quarterfinal victory took place at the OnCenter War Memorial in Syracuse, Sunday's matchup was held at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington, Ken, making it a true road game for the group of SU alums. The Coliseum is the home venue for the Kentucky Wildcats basketball games. Thousands of members of "Big Blue Nation" cheered on La Familia during the matchup.
--'Boeheim's Army' entered the game without veteran player Eric Devendorf. Devendorf suffered an injury during Thursday's night game. After not being available for the first two games, nine-year NBA veteran Wes Johnson was able to play. Johnson did not score in the game.
--The first quarter saw LA Familia get out to a 20-14 lead. The Kentucky alumni squad did not outscore Boeheim's Army in a single quarter again until the 4th quarter.
--After three quarters, 'Boeheim's Army' held a 52-48 lead.
--The fourth quarter again featured an Elam Ending finish:
--'Boeheim’s Army' held a 61-58 lead going to the under four-minute mark. The Elam Ending held a target score of 69. That meant 'La Familia' needed 11 points before 'Boeheim’s Army' could get eight more if they wanted to complete a comeback victory.
--Ty Nichols finished as the leading scorer with 24 points. Elijah Hughes finished with 16 points and seven rebounds for the group.
-- Trailing 68-66, Syracuse had a critical turnover which led to the game-winning bucket for the Wildcats group.
What's next for Boeheim's Army?
The 2026 Boeheim's Army run has officially come to an end. The team has only one won championship since the tournament began more than a decade ago. 'Boeheim's Army' has participated in every event except 2024, and there's no word if the group will be back next year.
What's next for 'La Familia?'
'La Familia' was led by former NBA player Archie Goodwin in the victory. Goodwin dropped 30 points in front of his former home crowd. 'La Familia' will now compete for the $2 million prize in the alumni bracket against either The AfterShocks or JXH Hoops. Tipoff is set for 9:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
