We now know how Sunday's game against the Saints will work.

On Sunday, the Syracuse Orange men's basketball team will play its second exhibition game of the campaign, this time against the Siena Saints at MVP Arena in Albany.

In addition to being a follow-up test to Tuesday's 72-52 loss against the UConn Huskies, this game will also represent a homecoming for several members of the Syracuse hoops team.

Siena will honor its 2025-26 MAAC Championship team by raising the championship banner at MVP Arena. They are doing it in this game so that McNamara, who was the head coach of that Saints team before coming to Syracuse, can be a part of it. But it's not just him. In addition to McNamara, several members of his staff were on that Siena staff, and players Gavin Doty, Francis Folefac and Tasman Goodrick were all a part of the roster.

Doty was the MVP of the MAAC Tournament last season as Siena won. They nearly upset No. 1 Duke in the NCAA Tournament.

As noted by Mark Singelais of the Albany Times Union, the banner ceremony will happen at 1:30 p.m. ET, a half hour before tip-off. There will also be a ring ceremony.

To be honest, the timing of everything surprises me. While doing it after the game is putting the onus on fans to stick around later, doing it before the game means that McNamara, his staff and the players will now have their attention diverted from the task at hand. The same goes for Siena.

Teams are used to pregame ceremonies in the form of awards presentations and senior nights, but this seems a little bit odd considering the festivities impact both teams. I would have thought both parties preferred to just focus on the game until it was over.

Evidently, that will not be the case.

Things to watch for on Sunday

After the 20-point loss for the Orange, there are a handful of things to look for this time around:

1) Does Kiyan Anthony shoot better from the outside? He was just 0-for-5 from 3-point range and had five points against UConn.

2) Does Sadiq White make an impact on the glass? He had only one rebound against the Huskies, calling it "unacceptable."

3) How does the point guard play break down between Garwey Dual and Ryan Moesch?

4) Does the trio of bigs dominate as expected against a small conference team?

We'll have reaction and takeaways following the conclusion of the game.
