Syracuse football suffered its second loss on the season on Thursday night courtesy of a 27-13 road loss against the Pittsburgh Panthers

Syracuse now moves to 1-2 overall on the season and 0-2 in conference play. They've lost 11 of their last 13 games to Pitt.

Before, during and after Thursday night's action, Syracuse football fans voiced their opinions via the social media platform X.

Kicker Tripp Woody was benched in the first half for Shay Barker. 

Woody's 29 yard field goal attempt miss was widely panned by social media.

Tom on X wrote : Not to be hyperbolic, but this might've been the worst FG attempt in the history of this planet.

Veteran sports reporter Bob Pompeani wrote on X :

 "Syracuse missed two Field Goals last week. Missed this tonight. Badly. 17-7 #Pitt over Syracuse late first half"  

Barker, to his credit, went 2-for-2 on field goals and 1-for-1 on extra points following the change.

The SU signal caller threw three interceptions in the loss against Cal, and then Angeli threw two pivotal interceptions in the fourth quarter of this one as Syracuse trailed 24-10 and tried to mount a comeback attempt.

Zac wrote on X:

"Angeli doesn’t even look at any other of his reads… WRs wide open. Another long season ahead… they need to really address the offense!"

Tommy questioned Angeli's performance:

"Starting to think Angeli might not be as good as I thought he was"

AT posted his frustration with this message:

"Yea Fran Brown gotta bench Angeli"

Well, Brown did bench Angeli for the last drive of the fourth quarter, turning to Kennesaw State transfer Amari Odom.

Some Orange fans are still encouraged about what the future may look like for Syracuse. The future may come from the potential of Odom playing quarterback in a starting role.

In regards to Odom playing as the team's starter, Harry said

"#Pitt may have done #Syracuse a favor. Amari Odom appears to be a much better QB. I don’t believe they have enough time for a comeback, but they may have found their starter moving forward."  

OG wants to see Odom start in the next game for Syracuse:

"I realize this is garbage time. But Amari Odom is so much quicker and more decisive with his passing. I want to see him in our next game from snap one."

The Orange will now enter a 16-day break from regular season action. Syracuse is on a bye week for the weekend of Sept. 27th and will not play in a game again until Oct. 3 when they take on the UConn Huskies. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. ET in East Hartford, CT. 

That game is likely to feature the debut of superstar freshman Calvin Russell as well.
