The Orange have added their third former Hilltoppers player in tight end Noah Meyers.

Brady Farkas on the latest addition to the Syracuse roster via the transfer portal.

After already landing defensive backs Nazir Ward Jr. and Jai Eugene from Western Kentucky in the transfer portal, the Syracuse University football program landed another former Hilltopper in tight end Noah Meyers on Friday.

Mike McAllister of 247 Sports had that information on social media.

Friday is the final full day of the transfer portal, though players playing in the national championship game will have an extended window to find new homes. It's unknown if Syracuse will have a chance at any outgoing Miami or Indiana transfers, so by the end of Friday we should have a good idea of how Fran Brown's team will look in 2026.

About Meyers

A Kentucky native, Meyers has played in three seasons at Western Kentucky, though he'll come to Syracuse with two seasons of eligibility left. He's played in 19 games over the last two years, amassing 39 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns. He has averaged 12.3 yards per reception in that time.

Who Syracuse has gained in the portal

Ahmad Miller, RB (Jackson State)

Jartavius Flounoy, DT (Georgia State)

Cole Weaver, WR (Miami of Ohio)

Ju'Juan Johnson, RB (LSU)

Michael Smith, TE (South Carolina)

Chris D'Appolonia, LB (Toledo)

Elijah Moore, WR (Florida State)

Keyshawn Johnson, Edge (UT-Martin)

Dillan Fontus, DL (Maryland)

Amari Odom, QB (Kennesaw State)

Amare Snowden, DB (Toledo)

Tunmise Adeleye, DE (UNLV)

Nazir Ward, DB (Western Kentucky)

Matthew Outten, WR (Penn State)

Danny Lauter, QB (Georgetown)

Jai Eugene, DB (Western Kentucky)

Oluwafunto Akinshilo, OL (UCLA)

***It should be noted that Smith's transfer is evidently causing some hiccups. He reportedly wanted to return to South Carolina, but Syracuse is making that difficult.

About the outlook for 2026

Syracuse lost its final eight games in 2025 to finish 3-9 on the campaign, but the Orange are looking up heading into 2026. Quarterback Steve Angeli, who missed each of those eight games with a torn Achilles, will be back healthy - and he has depth behind him in the form of quarterbacks Amari Odom (Kennesaw State) and Danny Lauter (Georgetown).

Furthermore, new defensive coordinator Vince Kehres built a top-ranked defense at Toledo and will have the opportunity to do that in Central New York as well.

Also on campus

--The Syracuse women's basketball team (15-3) defeated Cal on Thursday night in triple overtime at the JMA Wireless Dome.

--The Orange men's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday afternoon (2 p.m. ET) at Boston College. They are 12-5 and have won three straight games and are 3-1 inside league play. Boston College is 0-4 within the ACC.
