The Syracuse Orange football team (4-4) is now riding a two-game ACC winning streak following Saturday's upset win over SMU. 

Led by the standout play from wide receiver Umari Hatcher and the return of quarterback Steve Angeli, the Orange have positioned themselves to have a winning record this season and make a bowl game for the second time in three years.

The Orange are going to play a second straight home game this week against Clemson, but they also learned more about their matchup with North Carolina State (Nov. 14).

Noon ET. The afternoon trend continues for the Orange. The matchup against the Wolfpack joins a list of other noon games this season, including matchups against New Hampshire, Clemson and SMU. 

Syracuse has been able to defeat NC State in each of their last two matchups.

The Orange won 24-17 in 2024, which propelled Syracuse to a Holiday Bowl berth and an eventual double-digit win season. In 2022, Syracuse won 24-9 inside the JMA Wireless Dome. In similar fashion to '24, the Orange's victory over the Wolfpack helped secure a winning season and bowl bid. Syracuse finished the regular season 7-5 before losing in the Pinstripe Bowl to Minnesota.

In the preseason, NC State was considered a potential contender to win the ACC. In the past 10 seasons, the Wolfpack had won either eight or nine games seven times. 

But this year, it's been more of a struggle. The Wolfpack are 4-4 on the season and hold a 1-3 record in conference play. 

After 14 seasons leading the program, head coach Dave Doeren was fired by the school earlier this fall, They are reportedly interested in both Philip Rivers and Russell Wilson for the head coaching job. Both played at NC State.

Before the Wolfpack take on the Orange, they have one more game. NC State hosts the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday.

Before the Orange take on the Wolfpack. they will host Clemson on Saturday at noon.

After next Saturday's contest against NC State, Syracuse will close out the season with a road game against Boston College and a home game against Notre Dame. Both games have yet to announce a start time as of this posting.

Notre Dame is ranked No. 4 nationally.
