Follow along here for live updates from tonight's game as the Orange faithful get their first looks at the 2026 squad.

8:47pm: A game winning 50 yard field goal by Tripp Woody gives Team Orange the 9-7 win to conclude the spring football game. Check out Syracuse RoundTable where I'll have my top five takeaways from tonight's action.

8:36pm- It took nearly 90 minutes but running back Malachi Coleman finds the endzone for the Blue Team to give them the edge over Orange 7-6.

8:26pm. Defensive end Jamie Tremble has become my favorite player to cover this spring. Although he started his career as a tight end for the Orange, the 6'4' soon to be junior played on both sides of the football in 2025. His big play on fourth down makes him a unique name to keep an eye on this fall.

8:17pm. Time to test third downs. The crowd and band have been instructed to get even louder for each play.

8:02pm-Start of the "fourth quarter". Curious to see if we will get an overtime/competitive period to entertain the fans before the spring game comes to a close.

7:58pm Still no touchdown. Some fans might be surprised by that but in traditional spring games, the defense usually has an advantage. The offense is either testing situational scenarios or plays against coverages that could put them at a disadvantage. Also in comparison to a regular football game, no quarter clock is running to determine how a team would call down and distance play-calling.

7:40pm New chants and a new feel in the Dome.

Fran Brown addressed the crowd in between a unit switch, to discuss how he wants the crowd to respond to Syracuse's offensive and defensive units during regular season home games.  The above video shows Brown describing the new song and his hope for what fans should do to support their  offense.

Brown's  defense will be hope to be fired up by 1998 hip-hop classic by DMX Ruff Ryders' Anthem

7:32pm Just a few minutes action and we have our first big play. Interception by linebacker Chris D'Appolonia.

After a 3-9 season in 2025, the Syracuse football team officially turns the page on Saturday night with the playing of its annual Spring Game at the JMA Wireless Dome.

What players stood out? What were the biggest storylines from Saturday's action? You can follow the updates from Syracuse Roundtable's live coverage below: Before things get underway (7:30 p.m. ET) inside the JMA Wireless Dome, here are some of the storylines we are following before kickoff.

Primary pass catchers

The Orange lost six wide receivers to the transfer portal and have seen Russell go down for several months. Will Umari Hatcher stand out on Saturday? Or will it be a new addition to the team? The Orange added Elijah Moore from Florida State and Cole Weaver from Miami of Ohio in the offseason. Matthew Outten from Penn State is also a newcomer.

Intensity level

After covering the team in person this spring, it was clear that head coach Fran Brown's level of intensity was constantly high. Will that same energy be felt by players, fans and coaches on Saturday?

Roster numbers

It was a rare sight to see players wearing numbers in the 100's during spring ball. Will Brown continue to use that method? The thought is that players have to earn their numbers, something we've seen from other programs in the past.
