After suffering a 10-point loss on Monday against the University of North Carolina, the Syracuse University men's basketball team will hit the road again on Saturday afternoon to take on No. 18 Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
The game will tip-off at noon ET and will air on ESPN, giving Syracuse some more national exposure.
At 13-10 overall and 4-6 inside Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play, the Orange enter as a big underdog, with ESPN's matchup predictor giving the Cavaliers an 84.8 percent chance to win.
UVA is 19-3 overall and 8-2 inside the conference.
Virginia's three losses this season are against Virginia Tech, Butler and North Carolina. If you're an Orange fan looking for some optimism, take it here: SU beat Notre Dame by double-digits last weekend, while Virginia only beat them by three - and allowed 97 points in doing it (100-97).
Virginia also only beat Boston College by seven (73-66), a game that should have had a bigger disparity given where the two programs are.
UVA has beaten the likes of Texas and Maryland out of conference.
--The group has four players that average in double-figures, including Thijs De Ridder, who goes for 16.7 ppg. He also averages a team-high 6.6 rebounds a night.
--This is not the UVA of the past, as this team can really score, averaging 83.3 ppg. They also shoot at 35.9 percent from three-point range and 70.3 percent at the line.
It's pretty much the same as it always is: The Orange need to get solid performances out of Donnie Freeman and JJ Starling, and they need to move the ball better. Isolation ball does not work for this team, and when the ball stands still, they struggle to generate offense.
--The Syracuse women's basketball team stayed hot on Thursday night, rolling over BC 93-59 in Chestnut Hill, Ma. The Orange are 19-4 and 9-3 inside conference play. While not ranked, they appear to be on track for an NCAA Tournament berth later in March.
Freshman Uche Izoje led the way with 18 points and eight rebounds while Madeline Potts had 12. Laila Phelia and Dominique Darius each scored in double-figures also. Darius had 10 points and 10 assists.
They'll be back in action on Sunday afternoon (12 p.m. ET) when they host No. 6 Louisville in a massive contest at the JMA Wireless Dome.
