The Orange are hosting UAlbany at the JMA Wireless Dome as part of the non-conference schedule.
We already knew that the Syracuse men's basketball team was going to host the University at Albany in the 2026-27 season, but we now have confirmation as to when that will happen.
The Orange announced that this year's non-conference game will be played on Nov. 25, which is on Wednesday before the Thanksgiving holiday.
It will be interesting to see if that game happens at night or during the day, as when it happens could heavily impact attendance.
While day games are certainly hard to generate fans at, a night game on Thanksgiving Eve could be even tougher considering that's generally seen as a social and family night before the holiday.
With some people off work in advance of the holiday, it might be better to have the game played in the daytime from an attendance perspective.
For what it's worth, Syracuse football played against North Carolina last season on Halloween night at the JMA Wireless Dome and still registered a solid crowd.
These two teams last played in 2024, with SU winning 102-85.

UAlbany went 11-21 last season, finishing 7-9 in the America East Conference. Though they have been long and athletic under head coach Dwayne Killings, the Danes have struggled for several years.
Albany hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2014-15 and has just one winning record (17-16) since 2017-18.
Killings has been there for five seasons and has a familiarity with new SU head coach Gerry McNamara, as the two played each other when McNamara was at Siena.
In the news for Syracuse
--The Orange landed former Quinnipiac basketball standout Amarri Monroe on Tuesday night via the new "5-in-5" rule. Monroe played against McNamara's former Siena team while a member of the Bobcats and was named the MAAC Player of the Year in 2024-25. He was a first-team All-MAAC selection again in 2025-26.
Listed at 6-foot-7, he will clearly impact the playing time for other players at his same forward position, but how it impacts the likes of Kiyan Anthony, Gavin Doty and Aiden Tobiason specifically remains to be seen.
Of course, there's always a chance that the NCAA wins its appeal against this preliminary injunction, which means that maybe Monroe will never be eligible at all.
