Miles Robinson was named to the US National Team on Tuesday.
Congratulations are in order for former Syracuse men's soccer standout Miles Robinson, who was named to the final version of the US Men's National Team on Tuesday. This means that Robinson will represent the United States at the FIFA World Cup this summer.
Here's more of what you need to know:
About Robinson
Now 29 years old, Robinson hails from Arlington, Mass. He played two years at Syracuse before leaving for the MLS. A defender, he was a first-team All-American as a sophomore in 2016 and was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Syracuse had 11 shutouts in that campaign, in which he played a major role.
As a team, Syracuse advanced to the NCAA Tournament before losing to North Carolina in the second round. The Orange advanced to the Final Four during Robinson's freshman year. They lost to Clemson.
As a professional, Robinson plays for Cincinnati FC of the MLS. He was an MLS All-Star in both 2024 and 2025.
A veteran of the national team, Robinson played 90 minutes in each game for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He likely would have been on the 2022 World Cup roster, but was injured. This is first appearance at the World Cup as a result.
Former coach weighs in
