The Orange earned their 22nd win of the season on Sunday afternoon.

The Syracuse University women's basketball team earned its 22nd win of the regular season on Sunday afternoon, blowing out last-place Boston College 90-65 at the JMA Wireless Dome.

The Orange finish the regular season at 22-7 overall and 12-6 inside Atlantic Coast Conference play.

When the rest of the games go final on Sunday, they'll know where they finish in the league standings and how the ACC tournament will shake out.

As of this posting, Syracuse is tied for fifth with Virginia Tech, but Notre Dame is 11-6 with a chance to get to 12-6 if they can beat Louisville. That would create a three-way tie.

Here's what you need to know.

Leaders step up

After a difficult loss against Notre Dame the last time out, the Orange got 24 points from Uche Izoje (9-of-15), 11 from Laila Phelia and 10 from Dominique Darius. Madeline Potts also scored 10 off the bench. Eleven different members of the Orange scored in the victory.

Inside the numbers

--Syracuse shot 49 percent from the floor (36-of-73) but just 32 percent from three-point range (6-of-19). They were 80 percent (12-of-15) at the foul line.

--They held Boston College to 35 percent from the floor (22-of-63) and 11 percent (2-of-19) from three-point range.

--SU dominated the glass, winning the rebounding battle by 31 (56-25).

--Syracuse still committed 15 turnovers compared to only nine for the Eagles, but they also had 24 assists.

--Syracuse won every quarter, earning the biggest disparities in the first and third stanzas (10 and 11 points).

--The Eagles had three players in double-figures, including Jocelyne Grier, who had 20.

Time to get your dancing shoes on

The Orange were predicted to get a No. 9 seed in the most recent ESPN bracketology. If they can play well in the ACC Tournament, perhaps they can get themselves off that nine line and avoid a potential second-round matchup with a No. 1 seed.

The ACC Tournament begins on March 4 and is held in Duluth, Georgia.

How the tournament works

The top 15 teams in the league make the tournament, with teams 10-15 opening play on March 4. Teams 5-9 will open up play the next day, with the winners from the first day all advancing to that day as well.

Seeds 1-4 will wait until Friday, March 6 to debut. Syracuse is guaranteed to open up on the second day of the tournament, but the time will depend on seeding.

Need to know

The program welcomed back the 2016 national semifinalist team that lost to UConn in the national title game. They were honored as one of the best teams in program history.
