Details have been finalized for the Orange's first game of next season.
The Syracuse football team is continuing its training camp practices through the month of August in preparation for game one of the 2026 regular season on Sept. 5.
However, even though we haven't seen a down of football yet this year, the Orange program is already getting details about its 2027 campaign.
Here's what you need to know so far:
When will Syracuse kickoff the 2027 season?
According to Sportsnet producer Brad Humber on X, Syracuse will play on Saturday, Aug. 27 in Toronto at BMO Field. The Orange will be a part of the "Week 0" slate of games.
Who will the Orange play in Week 0, 2027?
The Orange will take on fellow Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) member Wake Forest.
Syracuse and Wake Forest will matchup for a 14th time in 2027. The Orange hold a 7-6 all time lead in the series. The most recent game took place in 2023 when the Orange won 35-31. The two teams will not play each other in the upcoming season.
According to a statement released earlier this year by Syracuse, the Week 0 game will have no impact on the future home schedule for the Orange. It will count as a Wake Forest home game.

"The game will also coincide with the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), Canada's largest annual community event and a premier end-of-summer fair. The CNE welcomes over 1.5 million visitors annually, creating a unique platform to introduce college football to a broad international audience.
This game will also be broadcast nationally on either ABC or ESPN.
As for the rest of the 2027 schedule?
Syracuse is currently set to play Penn State on Sept. 4, and they are set to play UConn on Nov. 6.
There is also a scheduled game with the FCS Fordham Rams that has yet to get an official date.
The matchups with Penn State, Fordham and UConn will be the only three non-conference games for the Orange in '27. The Orange's compete as a member of the ACC, a league that has transitioned to a nine-game conference schedule for the future.
As part of this, ACC programs have to play nine conference games, and at least one non-conference game against a Power Four team (or Notre Dame). Neither Fordham nor UConn are Power Four teams.
What's next for the 2026 Orange?
The next open training camp practice to the media will be Aug. 24. SyracuseRoundtable will be back at the Ensley Center bringing you coverage on scene.
