Freshman Nathan Miller stormed back from bogeys to claim co-medalist, fueling TCU Men's Golf to a strong third-place finish.

TCU freshman Nathan Miller continues to look like the next big name in college golf.

The Dallas native captured co-medalist honors at the Watersound Invitational on Wednesday, firing back-to-back rounds of 4-under 66 to finish at 9-under 201. Miller shared the top spot with Ole Miss’ Daniel Tolf and Vanderbilt’s Michael Riebe after a poised and mature closing round at The Third Course at Watersound Club.

What made Miller’s final round even more impressive was how it started. He opened with consecutive bogeys, immediately putting himself behind the eight ball. Instead of unraveling, the freshman locked in.

Over his final 16 holes, Miller played flawless, aggressive golf, carding six birdies to surge up the leaderboard and secure the first-place tie.

Miller is the first Horned Frog to win or share medalist honors since Gustav Frimodt’s victory at the Valero Texas Collegiate in September 2023 - a significant milestone for the program.

As a team, TCU delivered another strong performance, posting a final-round 5-under 275 to match its second-round score.

The Horned Frogs climbed three spots on the leaderboard to finish third at 10-under 830, trailing only No. 8 Arkansas (-19) and No. 3 Vanderbilt (-18) in a stacked field featuring multiple top-15 programs.

Charlie Wylie made one of the biggest moves of the day, shooting a 3-under 67 in the final round to vault 19 spots and finish tied for 29th at even-par 210.

Toby Wilt matched that total at even par, while Sam Udovich finished tied for 36th at 1-over 211 after a closing 74.

The Frogs’ depth continues to show. Across three rounds, TCU posted consistent team scores of 280, 275, and 275, demonstrating balance throughout the lineup.

For Miller, the breakthrough performance adds to what is shaping up to be an outstanding freshman campaign. The Trinity Christian Academy product has quickly become a reliable presence at the top of TCU’s lineup.

Next up, the Horned Frogs head west again for the Desimone Invitational at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, California, on March 9-10. If Miller’s current form is any indication, TCU men’s golf will once again be a contender.
