No. 18 TCU Baseball Stays Hot With 12-4 Win, Extends Streak cover image

The Horned Frogs score in every inning, swipe nine bases and dominate late to secure their third straight victory.

No. 18 TCU baseball is finding its rhythm at the plate, and the results are starting to stack up. The Horned Frogs rolled past New Haven 12-4 on Saturday at Lupton Stadium, pushing their winning streak to three games and showcasing an offense that refuses to cool off.

TCU improved to 5-5 on the season after scoring in all eight of its offensive innings, a relentless display of pressure baseball that kept New Haven on its heels from the first pitch.

Speed set the tone early as back-to-back walks and three stolen bases in the opening frame led to a Nolan Traeger sacrifice fly, and the Frogs never looked back.

Cole Cramer continued his hot weekend with a two-out RBI single in the second and later added a sacrifice fly, registering his 22nd career multi-RBI performance.

Lucas Franco’s two-run double in the sixth stretched the lead, and Jack Arthur added insurance with a clutch two-out double in the seventh.

TCU swiped nine bases - including a career-high three from Sawyer Strosnider - marking the third time this season the Frogs have recorded multiple stolen bases in a game.

Strosnider has now reached base safely in 26 consecutive games dating back to last year, while Chase Brunson extended his streak to 10 straight games.

Even when New Haven threatened in the fourth inning, trimming the margin to one, the bullpen responded. Walter Quinn (2-0) delivered two scoreless frames with four strikeouts to earn the win, and Zack James closed it out with four punchouts over the final two innings.

Seven of TCU’s 12 runs came with two outs, a sign of a lineup that’s locked in and capitalizing in key moments. The Frogs also played error-free defense for the third time this season.

Across the first two games of the series, TCU has scored in 14 of 15 offensive innings, a surge that signals confidence and balance up and down the lineup.

The Horned Frogs will look to complete the sweep Sunday at 1 p.m.CT , with Uli Fernsler set to take the mound as TCU aims to keep the momentum rolling.
