Olivia Miles turned Foster Pavilion into her personal shooting gallery on Thursday night.
The TCU guard detonated for a career-high 40 points while drilling 10 3-pointers, powering No. 17 TCU past No. 12 Baylor, 83-67, in a statement road win that instantly reshaped the Big 12 conversation.
And if the final score felt decisive, it was the third quarter that made it unforgettable.
Miles had a quiet-by-her-standards 10 points before halftime, but the game flipped when she caught fire coming out of the break.
She poured in 23 points in the third quarter alone, burying 7-of-9 shots from deep in that stretch and single-handedly pushing TCU’s slim advantage into a comfortable cushion. By the time the quarter ended, what had been a tight contest felt like the Horned Frogs were driving with cruise control.
The shooting feat carried a national-level context, too.
Her third-quarter burst was the most points by any Division I player in a single quarter since Caitlin Clark did it on Feb. 15, 2024.
And per ESPN, Miles became the first Division I player in the last 25 years to hit 10 threes on the road against a ranked opponent. She splashed the 10th with 5:31 left in the fourth, putting an exclamation mark on a night Baylor couldn’t solve.
Miles also continued a scorching stretch, logging her second straight game with 31-plus points. Consistency has been a theme all season: she hasn’t scored fewer than 12 in any outing.
TCU (22-4, 10-3 Big 12) got another huge performance from Marta Suarez, who added 27 points and six rebounds, giving the Frogs a lethal one-two punch on a night they needed every bit of it.
Baylor (21-5, 10-3) was led by Taliah Scott’s 22 points, and she crossed the 1,000-point mark for her career. Jana Van Gytenbeek finished with 14 points and six assists, while Darianna Littlepage-Buggs added 14 points, five rebounds and two blocks.
Next up, TCU returns home to host No. 19 West Virginia on Sunday, with momentum - and Miles - looking downright dangerous.
