TCU Freshman Nathan Miller Grabs Big 12 Golfer of the Week After 9-Under Title cover image

TCU freshman Nathan Miller earned Big 12 Golfer of the Week after a 9-under 201 at Watersound, firing three rounds in the 60s to share medalist honors.

FORT WORTH - TCU golf just got a national-level reminder that the future is already here ... and his name is Nathan Miller.

The freshman from Dallas was named Big 12 Men’s Golfer of the Week after torching the Watersound Invitational for a 9-under 201, cashing in three straight rounds in the 60s and sharing medalist honors in a loaded field.

Miller didn’t just sneak onto the top line; he kicked the door down late. His final round 4-under 66 included a closing stretch that looked like he was playing a different course than everyone else, birdieing three of the final five holes to climb into a three-way tie for first at The Third Golf Course at Watersound Club.

And he wasn’t piling up numbers in a soft event, either.

TCU finished 10-under as a team, good for third place in a tournament that featured four top-15 programs. In other words, pressure, talent, and scoreboard watching everywhere - and Miller still went low.

For TCU, the timing is perfect. Early spring events can feel like tune-ups. Miller is treating them like auditions, and he’s winning the room. A freshman posting a 201 in February isn’t just a hot week; it’s a signal the ceiling is higher than anyone wants to admit out loud.

What makes Miller dangerous isn’t only the score - it’s the way he got there. Three rounds in the 60s means he didn’t rely on one heater.

He stacked quality golf across 54 holes, then finished with a closing burst that screams composure.

Big 12 honors are nice. But the bigger headline for the Horned Frogs is this ... TCU has a freshman who can go toe-to-toe with elite fields and leave with hardware.
