Postseason hopes collide in Fort Worth as the Horned Frogs battle the Jayhawks. TCU must eliminate costly turnovers to survive a high-stakes Halloween showdown and remain bowl-eligible.

OK, let's admit it.

Right now, the TCU football team doesn't exactly have that "bowl-game feel.

But ... if the Horned Frogs wish to remain bowl-eligible?

A Halloween visit from Kansas counts as a must-win.

It'll be a 2:30 p.m. Saturday kickoff at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, with TCU (3-4, 1-3 in the Big 12) and Kansas (3-4, 1-3) trying to keep their seasons alive.

Maybe the"black-out'' fans theme in Fort Worth this weekend will help; that fits Halloween, right?

But some improvement on offense might help even more.

In the last meeting between the two schools? TCU defeated Kansas 38-27 back on Sept. 28, 2024.

But right about now, TCU - which is coming off another Big 12 loss after falling to West Virginia last week - doesn't seem very capable of that sort of offensive explosion.

Frogs head coach Sonny Dykes has talked often about fixing the mistakes.

Maybe the fix comes this weekend ... though the Jayhawks might be coming into town with some confidence as they are coming off a25-24 win over Baylor after overcoming an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

In the end? This outing figures to be crucial to TCU’s bowl eligibility ... and maybe that's reason enough for us to pick the Horned Frogs to win, 24-23.
