Olivia Miles capped a historic TCU season by becoming the school’s first woman named Big 12 Athlete of the Year after a record-shattering campaign.
Olivia Miles didn’t just have a great season at TCU. She detonated the program record book, owned the Big 12 and left Fort Worth with a resume that may never be matched.
The former Horned Frogs star has been named the 2025-26 Big 12 Women’s Athlete of the Year, becoming the first woman in TCU history to win the award and only the second Horned Frog overall. Former quarterback Max Duggan earned the honor following the 2022 season.
Miles’ selection also completes a rare conference sweep.
Earlier this month, she received the Bob Bowlsby Award, the Big 12’s most prestigious individual honor.
That makes Miles the first female athlete to capture both awards in the same year and only the third athlete overall to accomplish the double, joining Duggan and Colorado football star Travis Hunter.
That’s elite company.
Miles needed only one season at TCU to take control of the conference. She was named Big 12 Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year while earning unanimous first-team all-conference honors.
She later added consensus All-American recognition after leading the Horned Frogs to a second consecutive outright Big 12 regular-season championship and another trip to the Elite Eight.
Her numbers were absurd.
Miles averaged 19.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 49 percent from the field. No player in NCAA women’s basketball history had previously produced that statistical combination across an entire season.
She also finished with 744 points and 252 assists, both TCU single-season records.
Her 6.6 assists per game established another school mark, while her 14-assist performance set the program’s single-game record.
And then there were the triple-doubles.
Miles posted six during the season, the most ever recorded by a Big 12 women’s player in both a single year and an entire career.
She was also the only player nationally to surpass 600 points, 200 rebounds, 200 assists and 50 steals.
By season’s end, she had joined an exclusive four-player club in women’s college basketball history with at least 2,000 career points, 800 rebounds and 800 assists.
The Minnesota Lynx selected Miles with the No. 2 pick in the WNBA Draft, and her takeover hasn’t slowed. She’s averaging 19.6 points and six assists as a rookie while helping Minnesota build a league-best 21-6 record.
Miles became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 350 points and 100 assists. She has already produced 11 games with at least 20 points and earned a starting spot in the WNBA All-Star Game, becoming the only rookie selected as a starter this season.
TCU has produced great athletes before. But Olivia Miles’ one-year rampage through college basketball may stand alone.
