Rosemary Archer and Kinsley Young earn Big 12 weekly honors after helping No. 8 TCU extend its winning streak to 11 matches.
FORT WORTH - TCU volleyball keeps stacking wins, rankings milestones and conference honors.
Fifth-year setter Rosemary Archer was named Big 12 Setter of the Week, while freshman middle blocker Kinsley Young earned Rookie of the Week after helping the Horned Frogs sweep another successful weekend at Schollmaier Arena.
The awards were confirmed Tuesday by the Big 12.
TCU knocked off No. 24 Colorado and UCF to stretch its winning streak to 11 matches, the second-longest run in program history.
The Frogs also climbed to No. 8 in the AVCA Coaches Poll, establishing a new program high.
Archer was the engine behind an efficient TCU attack.
She totaled 76 assists over eight sets, averaging 9.50 assists per set while directing an offense that hit .303 across the two victories.
Archer finished with 35 assists and 13 digs against Colorado, then followed with 41 assists against UCF as TCU hit .333 in the four-set win.
Young’s impact was even more pronounced at the net.
The Southlake native collected 15 blocks during the week, averaging 1.88 per set while also contributing 18 kills on a .366 hitting percentage.
Her biggest performance came against Colorado, when she produced the first double-double of her college career with 10 kills and 11 blocks.
The 11 rejections are the most by a Big 12 player in a conference match this season, and Young became the first TCU middle blocker since Mykayla Myers in 2021 to record a kills-blocks double-double.
She then added eight kills and four blocks against UCF.
The awards are Archer and Young’s second weekly Big 12 honors of the season. Both were also recognized Sept. 8, when TCU became the first program in league history to sweep all four weekly volleyball awards.
TCU now turns toward another important week.
The No. 8 Horned Frogs host Arizona on Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m. CT before traveling to face No. 11 Arizona State on Sunday.
The ranking keeps climbing. The winning streak keeps growing.
And Archer and Young are becoming major reasons why.
