TCU baseball will play four fall games against Texas State and UT Arlington before closing fall practice with the Purple-White World Series.
TCU baseball fans won't have to wait until February to get another look at the Horned Frogs.
Head coach Kirk Saarloos has announced four TCU baseball fall games, including three at Lupton Stadium, as the Horned Frogs begin preparing for the 2027 season. The schedule features two games against Texas State and a home-and-home series with UT Arlington.
Better yet for fans, TCU says all fall practices and games will be "free and open to all fans."
The fall schedule begins with a two-game weekend against Texas State on Oct. 17-18 at Lupton Stadium. Saturday's game is scheduled for 4 p.m., followed by a noon first pitch Sunday.
TCU will then renew its Metroplex matchup with UT Arlington.
The Mavericks visit Fort Worth on Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. before the Horned Frogs make the short trip to Arlington for the return game on Nov. 1 at 1 p.m.
Those four games will give Saarloos and his staff a chance to evaluate a roster preparing for another run through the Big 12 while experimenting with lineups, pitching combinations and roles before the regular season begins.
Fall baseball isn't about wins and losses as much as development, but the games provide TCU with something regular intrasquad work can't completely replicate ... competition against another uniform.
Fans will also have additional opportunities to see the Horned Frogs throughout fall practice.
TCU plans to hold intrasquad scrimmages during the week before concluding the fall with its annual Purple-White World Series from Nov. 6-8.
Game times for the three-game Purple-White series will be announced later.
TCU is coming off a 2026 season in which the Horned Frogs finished 33-21 overall and 17-13 in Big 12 play, including a strong 23-5 record at Lupton Stadium.
Now the next version of Saarloos' program begins taking shape.
October won't count in the standings, but for players battling for innings, lineup spots and pitching roles, these four games could be considerably more important than the phrase "fall baseball" suggests.
