TCU basketball will visit reigning Big 12 champion Arizona on Feb. 8 for a nationally televised ESPN2 matchup on the 2027 Big Monday schedule.
FORT WORTH - TCU basketball is heading back to a national television spotlight, and the Horned Frogs won’t be getting an easy assignment.
The Big 12 announced Monday that TCU will visit Arizona on Feb. 8, 2027, as part of ESPN’s Big Monday package. The game is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2, putting Jamie Dixon’s program on one of college basketball’s most recognizable weekly stages.
For TCU, it’s another sign that the program’s recent postseason success is carrying weight nationally.
The Horned Frogs returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2026 and beat Ohio State 66-64 in the first round. Xavier Edmonds delivered the winning basket with 4.3 seconds left and finished with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Micah Robinson led TCU with 18 points, while David Punch posted 16 points and 13 rebounds.
TCU’s season ended two days later with an 81-58 loss to No. 1 Duke, but the program still reached the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in five seasons.
Now the Frogs get another measuring-stick opportunity.
Arizona won both the Big 12 regular-season and tournament championships in 2026 before advancing to the Final Four.
The Wildcats finished 36-3 under Tommy Lloyd, setting a program record for victories before falling to Michigan in the national semifinals.
That makes the Feb. 8 trip to Tucson one of the more daunting road games on TCU’s conference schedule.
The Horned Frogs already knew Arizona would be one of their road-only Big 12 opponents in 2026-27. The ESPN announcement simply puts an even larger spotlight on it.
TCU returns five players from last season’s roster while welcoming 10 newcomers for Dixon’s 11th season in Fort Worth.
The Frogs went a program-best 11-7 in Big 12 play last season and finished sixth after being picked 10th in the preseason conference poll.
The league described its five-game package as games that will be “featured and nationally televised” as part of ESPN’s Big Monday lineup.
For TCU, that national exposure comes against about as accomplished an opponent as the conference can offer.
The full Big Monday slate also includes Kansas at Houston, Houston at Texas Tech, Arizona at BYU and Iowa State at Kansas.
