Sonny Dykes is targeting three-star standout Brody Knowles, leveraging a proven NFL pipeline to keep local Southlake Carroll talent in Fort Worth despite fierce SEC recruiting competition.

TCU is giving off the vibe that it can win when it comes to recruiting in the state of Texas, and a talented wide receiver from Southlake Carroll High School may be the next prospect to prove that claim.

TCU is "prioritizing'' - in the words of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram - Dragons standout Brody Knowles, a 6-4 wideout who put up good numbers in the 2024 season (with 544 yards and eight touchdowns) and again last year (816 yards and seven TDs.

And now, Knowles - ranked as a three-star recruit on 247Sports - is poised to do it one more time in high school as he sorts through offers from programs that include TCU, Arkansas, Illinois and Colorado.

One attraction to the Horned Frogs - who the Star-Telegram says have Knowles ranked as "one of their top targets this cycle'' - is the Fort Worth's school's penchant for developing stars at the position.

Frogs players like Quentin Johnston, Derius Davis, Jack Bech and Savion Williams have moved from the TCU program up and into the NFL.

“Development’s basically my main thing,” Knowles said via the paper. “It’s development and relationships that I base (my recruitment) off of. They have both. ... It’s a good fit.”

TCU recruiting isn’t backing down from the challenges in Texas, even as NIL money, SEC noise and realignment pressure are all reshaping college football.

The Horned Frogs are still pushing for serious 2027 talent, and names like offensive tackle Caleb Siler, wide receiver Kobe Haynes,  quarterback commit Brice McCurdy and Knowles show why Sonny Dykes’ program remains dangerous on the trail.

In a sport where every school claims it can develop players, TCU has something tangible to point at. ... and it is hoped Knowles and other prospects see Fort Worth exactly that way.
