TCU football is chasing Bridge City linebacker Bryce Breeden as the Horned Frogs try to turn a huge June recruiting run into another defensive win.
TCU football recruiting has been on a heater in June, and the Horned Frogs may not be done swinging.
Bridge City three-star linebacker Bryce Breeden is set to announce his college decision Friday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m., and TCU is firmly in the fight.
Breeden will choose from a final group that includes TCU, Arkansas, Arizona, Northwestern, Purdue and Michigan, giving the Horned Frogs a high-stakes recruiting battle with national reach.
For Sonny Dykes and his staff, this one would hit a need and make a statement.
TCU has already built most of its 2026 recruiting class during a furious June push, landing 13 of its 17 commitments this month.
That kind of momentum matters, especially for a program trying to climb from No. 50 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings.
Adding Breeden would give the Frogs another defensive piece with real upside and would strengthen a linebacker room that currently has one commit in the class: Linkin Apana.
The Horned Frogs have worked this recruitment hard.
He’s been to Fort Worth multiple times, including visits for a top-target event, spring practice and his official visit.
That kind of repeated exposure usually means a player has gotten a full look at the program, the staff and the development plan.
The question now is whether TCU did enough to hold off a late push from Arkansas, which hosted Breeden most recently, and several other Power Four programs with their own pitch.
For Breeden, the decision appears to come down to fit, opportunity and development. For TCU, it’s about proving this June run isn’t just quantity — it’s quality.
If the Frogs land him, their recruiting surge gets a whole lot louder.
