TCU defensive tackle Ansel Din-Mbuh earned national recognition for his community work, academic success and impact on the Horned Frogs’ defense.
Ansel Din-Mbuh is making an impact for the TCU Horned Frogs that can’t be measured by tackles, sacks or snaps alone.
The senior defensive tackle was named a nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, a national honor recognizing college football players who excel in community service, leadership, academics and athletics.
Din-Mbuh has become one of the strongest examples of what TCU wants its student-athletes to represent.
He’s productive on Saturdays, dependable in the classroom and willing to invest his time and resources into helping people throughout the Fort Worth community.
That combination made him an obvious candidate for the prestigious recognition.
A Health Sciences major, Din-Mbuh earned a spot on the 2025 Academic All-Big 12 Team.
He’s also taken an active role in TCU’s annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, helping provide meals for local families dealing with food insecurity.
His community involvement didn’t stop when the school year ended.
Din-Mbuh organized a backpack drive during the summer, collecting supplies for children preparing to return to school.
He’s also participated in recruiting panels, speaking directly with prospective players and their families about the challenges of adjusting to college life and the expectations that come with playing football at TCU.
That’s leadership without a stat sheet.
On the field, however, Din-Mbuh has numbers worth noticing. During his first season with the Horned Frogs, the Aledo, Texas, native recorded 24 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.
He quickly established himself as a reliable piece of TCU’s defensive front and enters 2026 expected to carry an even larger role.
Defensive tackles are usually celebrated for collapsing pockets, swallowing running lanes and making quarterbacks uncomfortable. Din-Mbuh has done that work, but his influence reaches far beyond the line of scrimmage.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team has honored college football players for service and leadership since 1992.
Allstate has presented the award since 2008, highlighting athletes who use their visibility to improve the lives of others.
Din-Mbuh’s nomination is more than another line on his resume.
It’s proof that some of the most important victories in college football don’t happen inside a stadium. They happen at food drives, in classrooms and whenever a player decides his platform should be used for something bigger than himself.
