TCU junior Kirstin Angosta sits one shot off the NCAA Championship lead after another clutch under-par round at Omni La Costa.
TCU women’s golf has never had a national champion. Kirstin Angosta is suddenly close enough to make that sentence feel shaky.
The TCU junior sits tied for fourth at 5-under after two rounds of the NCAA D1 Women’s Golf Championship at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa, just one shot behind co-leaders Megha Ganne of Stanford, Farah O’Keefe of Texas and Ole Miss standout Kajsalotta Svarvar.

That’s serious company, and Angosta isn’t blinking.
She fired a 2-under round Saturday, moving to 139 for the tournament with 36 holes still left to play.
Starting on No. 10, Angosta stacked five birdies and signed for matching 1-under 35s on each side. Her 11 total birdies lead the entire 156-player field.
The only real bruise came at No. 14, where a double bogey kept her from grabbing the outright lead. Instead of letting the mistake wreck her round, Angosta punched back with birdies on 11, 13 and 15, then took advantage of the par-5 second and sixth holes after the turn.
That’s the kind of response that plays in championship golf.
Angosta is already in rare TCU territory. She’s the first Horned Frogs golfer to shoot even par or better in multiple postseason rounds.
Saturday also marked her fourth straight round of par or better, continuing a heater that started with her runner-up finish at the NCAA Waco Regional, where she shot 6-under 204 to reach La Costa.
She has now played par-or-better golf in eight of her last 14 rounds, showing this isn’t some random hot weekend.
It’s form. It’s confidence. It’s timing.
TCU has never even had a player reach the final round of NCAA stroke play. Angosta is positioned to change that, with the nine highest individuals from non-advancing teams moving on to Monday’s final 18.
Her next test arrives Sunday at 10:42 a.m. CT. One shot back. Two rounds left. History sitting right there.
