TCU tennis keeps rolling, and Cosme Rolland De Ravel just gave the Horned Frogs another reason to feel dangerous this spring.
The senior was named Big 12 Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week, and honestly, it’s hard to argue with the pick after the run he put together. When a player goes unbeaten, stacks ranked wins, and helps drive team victories against major opponents, that’s not a hot streak. That’s a statement.
Rolland De Ravel finished the week with a 5-0 record, and the quality of those wins made the honor feel even bigger. He wasn’t just collecting routine victories. He was showing up against serious competition and delivering in pressure moments.
That started in doubles, where he teamed with Duncan Chan to slam the door on two nationally ranked teams. The TCU pair sealed the doubles point against No. 22 Florida with a 7-5 win, then came right back and handled No. 12 Georgia by a 6-2 margin. That kind of work at the top is exactly how elite teams build momentum.
Then came singles, where Rolland De Ravel turned it up another level.
The No. 36-ranked Horned Frog battled back to beat No. 50 Henry Jefferson of Florida, winning 6-7 (1), 6-2, 6-0 after dropping the opening set. That alone would’ve been impressive.
But he followed it by taking down No. 32 Arda Azkara of Georgia in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, proving he could win with both grit and control.
He also helped open Big 12 play in style. Rolland De Ravel and Chan, ranked No. 8 in doubles, knocked off Texas Tech’s Niksa Arsic and Thiago Guglieri 6-3, helping set the tone in TCU’s 4-0 sweep.
This wasn’t just a good week for TCU men’s tennis. It was the kind of week that reminds the rest of the conference the Horned Frogs still have stars capable of taking over a match.
