After taking home back-to-back Big 12 regular season soccer championships, TCU could be setting itself up for a rare three-in-a-row.
While TCU is gearing up for football season, another sport could be aiming to steal the spotlight in Fort Worth.
Soccer is just around a week away from getting underway across the NCAA and the Big 12 unveiled its preseason coaches poll to celebrate the occasion.
The overwhelming favorite to take home the conference crown? None other than the Horned Frogs.
Coming in with 222 total points and a whopping 13 first-place votes from the other coaches in the league, TCU was comfortably in front of all other hopefuls in the league.
Colorado came in second with 187 points and a first-place vote, Kansas and West Virginia both tied for third with 182, while only the Mountaineers earned a vote for first, and Texas Tech rounded out the top five and received the final first-place nod.
If the Horned Frogs can live up to these lofty expectations from the rest of the conference, they will notch their third-straight regular season title within the Big 12.
Alongside the coaches poll, the conference released its list of honorees on the Preseason All-Big 12 Team, which unsurprisingly included a few representatives from TCU.
Four Horned Frogs garnered accolades, with goalkeeper Olivia Geller, reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year Kamdyn Fuller, 2024 Big 12 Forward of the Year Bella Diorio and fellow forward Emma Yolinsky.
Geller has a case for the best returning goalie in the conference after surging late in the season, especially in the Frogs postseason run with 24 saves and three goals allowed.
Obviously as the Freshman of the Year Fuller was a strong piece of TCU's group last year, with four goals and assists in her collegiate debut. She will look to keep on impressing in her sophomore outing.
Diorio is perhaps the biggest asset for the Horned Frogs, as she is returning from an injury that kept her off the pitch following her incredible 2024 campaign. Her talents are well known and look to improve a team that was already the best in the league.
Last but not least, Yolinsky was the second leading goal scorer for TCU this prior season with nine alongside five assists. After the departure of leader Seven Castain, her prowess for finding the back of the net will be invaluable.
And TCU will rely heavily on all these standouts to lead the charge toward a dominant third ring in as many years.
The soccer program at TCU has already laid the foundation of one of the Big 12's, and arguably nation's, best and this season could continue to send the Horned Frogs into the forefront of the sport.
