The air around Fort Worth is electric this week as the TCU Horned Frogs prepare for a high-stakes encounter at Schollmaier Arena.
On Wednesday, Feb. 4, the 14th-ranked Frogs (20-3, 8-2 Big 12) look to protect their position atop the conference standings in a pivotal matchup against the Houston Cougars.
Beyond the league implications, TCU is on the verge of claiming the longest active home winning streak in all of college basketball - a record-breaking 39th straight victory that would see them surpass Texas for the national lead.
Under the guidance of head coach Mark Campbell, Schollmaier Arena has become one of the most intimidating venues in the country.
Since the 2023-24 season, the Frogs have allowed a mere 54 points per game on their home court. This season, that defensive dominance has reached new heights, with the team outscoring visiting opponents by a staggering average of 36 points.
In fact, TCU leads the nation in field goal percentage defense, holding teams to a stifling 32.8 percent from the floor.
The Horned Frogs' success is fueled by a starting five that ranks as the fifth-highest-scoring unit in the nation.
Leading the way is Olivia Miles, who is putting up historic numbers. Miles is currently third in the Big 12 in scoring at 19.6 ppg, and sixth nationally in assists. She is currently on pace to become the first player in NCAA history to average 19 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists while shooting at least 50 percent from the field.
Sharing the spotlight is Marta Suarez, who forms half of the Big 12's highest-scoring duo alongside Miles. Suarez has been a force both inside and out, averaging 15.3 points per game.
Together, they are one of only two tandems in the country - alongside UCLA’s star duo - to average at least 15 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

The Frogs aren't just a two-woman show. Donovyn Hunter has been remarkably consistent, scoring in double figures in 16 games this season, while Taylor Bigby ranks second in the Big 12 in three-point accuracy at 41 percent. Facilitating it all is Maddie Scherr, who leads the conference with an elite 3.41 assist-to-turnover ratio.
With a win on Wednesday, TCU would secure a full two years without a home loss, further cementing its status as a national powerhouse.
Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
