Olivia Miles Erupts for 40 and Earns Big 12 Weekly Honor cover image

Forty points, ten 3s, and a historic road win propel Olivia Miles to Big 12 Player of the Week.

Olivia Miles is playing her best basketball at exactly the right time ... and the rest of the country is starting to take notice.

The TCU graduate guard was named Big 12 Player of the Week after delivering one of the most electric performances in women’s college basketball this season.

Miles powered the Horned Frogs to consecutive wins over ranked opponents, including a statement road victory at then-No. 12 Baylor and a home triumph over No. 19 West Virginia.

Her outing in Waco will be talked about for a long time.

Miles poured in 40 points in TCU’s 83-67 win over Baylor, knocking down 10 3-pointers on 20 attempts from beyond the arc.

No Division I player has scored more points this season against a ranked opponent. Even more impressive? She became the first player in NCAA history to hit 10 3s on the road against a Top 25 team.

And she didn’t slow down after that. In the Horned Frogs’ 59-50 victory over West Virginia, Miles filled up the stat sheet again with 12 points, seven rebounds and a game-high seven assists.

The win marked TCU’s 40th straight home victory, the longest active home winning streak in the nation.

For the week, Miles averaged 26.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. It’s the second straight week she has earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors and her fourth time receiving the award this season, further cementing her status as one of the elite guards in the country.

Miles, who is on the Wooden Award Late Midseason Top 20 Watch List, has been the steady engine behind TCU’s surge in conference play.

Her ability to stretch defenses with deep shooting, create for teammates and defend at a high level makes the Horned Frogs a dangerous matchup for anyone in the Big 12.

With postseason play approaching and the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament set for early March in Kansas City, TCU is peaking at the perfect moment.

If Miles continues this level of play, the Horned Frogs won’t just be chasing a conference title ... they’ll be positioned to make serious noise in March.
