Edmonds exploded for a career-high 26 points and 10 rebounds, igniting a stunning 18-point comeback victory and earning conference recognition.

Junior forward Xavier Edmonds continues to emerge as one of the Big 12’s most impactful players, earning a spot on the conference’s Starting Five following a statement performance against Kansas State.

The recognition comes after Edmonds delivered the best game of his college career in a dramatic comeback win that showcased both his production and poise.

The Salt Lake Community College transfer was nearly unstoppable on Saturday, pouring in a career-high 26 points while pulling down 10 rebounds to record his fifth consecutive double-double.

Edmonds was hyper-efficient from the floor, knocking down nine of his 10 shot attempts and converting his lone 3-point look.

When the game tightened late, he was at his best, scoring six of the final seven points to help secure an 84-82 victory after his team trailed by as many as 18 points in the first half.

Edmonds' ability to take over in the closing minutes highlighted the confidence he’s playing with and the growing role he’s assumed as a go-to option. Consistency has been the defining trait of his recent stretch, with double-doubles becoming routine rather than an exception.

The Big 12 Starting Five honor marks Edmonds’ second conference award of the season, further cementing his status as one of the league’s breakout players.

He was recognized alongside a talented group that included Big 12 Player of the Week Flory Bidunga of Kansas, Big 12 Newcomer of the Week AJ Dybantsa from BYU, Cameron Carr of Baylor, and Kingston Flemings of Houston.

As conference play intensifies, Edmonds’ rise couldn’t come at a better time. His combination of efficiency, physicality, and late-game confidence has made him a matchup problem on a nightly basis.

If this level of play continues, Xavier Edmonds won’t just be a weekly award contender—he’ll be a central figure in the Big 12 race down the stretch.
