TCU Baseball Earns National Respect as Five Frogs Land Preseason All-America Honors cover image

Five Horned Frogs receive preseason All-America nods, signaling a powerful lineup and dominant pitching ready to contend for a national championship.

Momentum is building quickly around TCU baseball as the Horned Frogs head into the 2026 season with national attention already firmly in place.

Five TCU players earned preseason All-America recognition from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, a clear signal that this roster is loaded with both proven production and high-end upside.

Leading the way is Sawyer Strosnider, who landed on the NCBWA First Team and also earned a spot on the Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list. Strosnider was the engine of TCU’s offense last season, batting .350 while piling up 77 hits and 51 RBIs.

His versatility and explosiveness showed up in every column of the stat sheet, highlighted by a remarkable 10 triples that set a single-season program record and led the nation.

Even more impressive, Strosnider became the first TCU player in over a decade to post a quadruple-double season, combining extra-base power, speed, and run production in a way few players nationally could match.

Joining him on the national radar is starting pitcher Tommy LaPour, a Second Team All-American and fellow Golden Spikes watch list selection.

LaPour was the definition of reliable in 2025, anchoring the rotation with a 3.09 ERA across 16 starts. He logged team highs in wins, innings, and strikeouts, and during conference play was nearly untouchable, going undefeated while keeping opposing hitters quiet. His stretch of six straight quality starts was a reminder of how valuable consistency can be at the front of a rotation.

Power hitter Chase Brunson earned Third Team honors after leading the Frogs with 12 home runs and driving in 46 runs. Brunson’s ability to do damage in key moments made him a constant threat in the middle of the lineup, and his combination of power and speed added another layer to TCU’s offense.

Freshman standouts Noah Franco and Mason Brassfield rounded out the list with Fourth Team selections.

Franco impressed immediately with a .313 average, 16 doubles, and 11 home runs, while also contributing on the mound. Brassfield delivered valuable innings as both a starter and reliever, striking out 68 batters and showcasing command beyond his years.

With Vanderbilt looming in the season opener at Globe Life Field, TCU enters 2026 carrying both confidence and expectation. The preseason accolades suggest this group isn’t just talented ... it’s built to contend.
