A handful of key performances up and down the lineup and from the pitching staff paced No. 19/19 Tennessee to a 7-4 win in its SEC opener on the road at No. 6/8 Georgia on Friday night at Foley Field.

Henry Ford and Manny Marin combined to drive in six of the Volunteers' seven runs while Tegan Kuhns and Brandon Arvidson were able to limit the Bulldogs' explosive offense to their second lowest run total of the season.

Tennessee starter Kuhns finished with six strikeouts in 4.2 innings and did not factor into the decision.  Arvidson pitched the final 4.1 innings to earn his first win of the year. The Dripping Springs, Texas, native was phenomenal out of the bullpen, allowing just two hits while striking out four batters.

Justin Byrd struck out six but suffered the loss for UGA after giving up three runs on four hits in three innings of relief. Bulldogs' starter Joey Volchko got a no-decision after allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings.
