The five-star Tennessee commit headlined a dominant weekend for future Vols, turning a screen pass into an 80-yard score while fellow recruits ignited high school scoreboards.
David Gabriel Georges is a walking highlight reel. He made his case differently in Week 5 of the high school football season.
At the halfway point of the prep year, Tennessee football’s future talent continues to shine. While some players like three-star quarterback commit Derrick Baker were on a bye, fellow signal-caller Kaden Craft utilized his dual-threat abilities.
Here’s a look at how the future of the Vols performed on Sept. 18.
Five-star running back David Gabriel Georges (2027)
The story consistently writes itself for the Vols’ most prized recruiting possession.
Gabriel Georges, the multi-million dollar ball mover from Baylor School (Tenn.), posted his lightest workload of the season on Friday night. But he made the most of it.
Gabriel Georges rushed the ball twice for 15 yards and a touchdown. His human highlight-reel moment came when he took a screen pass 80 yards to the end zone to help Baylor to a 42-0 shutout win over CPA. The Red Raiders are 5-0 on the season.
The five-star running back is up to 79 carries for 775 yards and 14 touchdowns at the halfway mark of his senior season.
Four-star quarterback Kaden Craft (2028)
Tennessee’s 2028 signal-caller finally played four quarters of football on Sept. 18.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound quarterback faced a tightly contested bout on the road against Reagan (N.C.), and Craft did enough to pull out the 31-24 win. Craft completed 10-of-14 passes for 169 yards and a score. He added 15 carries for 54 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Craft has completed 68.5% of his passes (50-of-73) this season, tossing for 977 yards and nine touchdowns without a pick. He’s got another 199 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, leading Lake Norman (N.C.) to a 5-0 start to the season.
Three-star wide receiver Dayon Cooper (2027)
Another Chattanooga-area commit on the offensive side of the ball, Dayon Cooper found paydirt three times in a blowout win for South Pittsburg (Tenn.).
Cooper hauled in three of quarterback Knox Israel’s six touchdown passes. Cooper finished with 130 total yards in a 62-14 win over Franklin County. South Pittsburg is now 4-1 on the season.
Three-star athlete Dylan Haley (2027)
Though a likely defensive addition at the next level, Dylan Haley made an impact on the offensive side of the ball in a win on Friday night.
Haley hauled in four passes for 81 yards and a pair of scores to help Cherokee Bluff (Ga.) to a blowout win over Forsyth Central. Haley leads the team with 24 receptions for 337 yards and seven touchdowns while standing at 6-1, 180 pounds.
Three-star running back Asa Barnes (2027)
Gabriel Georges' future backfield partner put on a Gabriel Georges-like showcase on a kick return for Westview (Tenn.).
In a 57-0 win over McNairy Central, Asa Barnes took a long kickoff return all the way back. Though no official stats are posted from Westview’s win, a video shows Barnes shedding a tackler before finding the sideline on his way to pay dirt.
Barnes has helped Westview to an effortless 5-0 start.
